Growing demands and increasing specialization in the day to day work of
clinical doctors (such as visceral surgeons, gastro-enterologists,
oncologists, radio therapists etc) as well as doctors working in
consultant areas (such as radiologists or in nuclear medicine)
inevitably lead to more complex diagnostical and therapeutical
processes.
Thus,
an interdisciplinary exchange of thoughts between specialized clinical
colleagues will enable a better understanding of the problems and
contents of the various tasks, becoming more and more complex, in the
different disciplines. This exchange will also help in offering
adequate answers for arising questions and will make it easier to
render support from one’s own field of medicine, where necessary. To
achieve all this, clinical-pathological meetings may be a highly
efficient information and discussion tool for all medical disciplines
involved.

|
Since the foundation of the institute of pathology in Vechta, clinical-pathological meetings
are held on a regular basis in cooperation with doctors from the St.
Marienhospital in Vechta, the St. Franziskus-Hospital in Lohne, the St.
Josefs-Hospital in Cloppenburg, the St. Elisabeth-Hospital in Damme and
the Christian Hospital in Quakenbrück. These meetings are also attended
by many self-employed colleagues.

|
During
these clinical-pathological meetings, the medical data of in and out
patients are presented in detail by the respective physicians, this is
completed by microscopic and macroscopic aspects of pathological
anatomy. Finally, the diagnosis and subsequent therapeutical procedure
are to be discussed interdisciplinary, considering every presented
aspect.

|
|
Clinical and self-employed doctors are invited to propose interesting
and remarkable medical results of in and out patients for discussion
during the clinical-pathological meeting.
